Phoenix Express 2024: Uniting Global Navies to Secure the Mediterranean

The 19th iteration of Phoenix Express, a multinational maritime exercise sponsored by U.S. Africa Command and executed by Commander, U.S. 6th Fleet, concluded today, marking another significant step in bolstering maritime security in the Southern Mediterranean. This 10-day exercise brought together maritime forces from North Africa, Europe, and the United States, showcasing the global commitment to counter sea-based illicit activity.

Designed to enhance regional cooperation, maritime domain awareness, and information-sharing practices, Phoenix Express also provided participants with tactical interdiction training. These efforts aim to reinforce the collective capabilities of the participating nations in safeguarding the Mediterranean.
